Tip Of The Day!

2 Mar

Water reaches the skin last. Unless you drink enough, your skin will feel the effects more than any other organ. Want beautiful skin that is supple, soft, smooth and wrinkle free? Be sure to drink plenty of water every day to help hydrate the skin and improve your appearance.

Often people mistaken that they are hungry when in fact they are thirsty. They reach for the snacks instead of a glass of water. Drinking a big glass 30 minutes before each meal can help you feeling full, so you eat less and help better digest the food you eat. Studies show that drinking enough water may give you more energy and burn more calories during exercise and help your body reduce fat deposit. Good news for your weight loss or weight control program.

Want to improve your overall health and well-being? Drinking enough clean and fresh water will help reach and maintain your health. It is so important for many body functions, such as:

– Helps maintain blood volume which maintains your energy; prevents blood thickening that leads to high blood pressure and other heart diseases. Again, blood should consist of 92% water.

– Improves your concentration and reaction time, which is important for our daily activities. Remember, brain works best when there is enough clean water.

– Helps burn more calories during regular daily activities and exercise.

– Can ease or prevent stomach distress when taking medications.

– Flushes out the toxins in our bodies through urination and sweat.

– Rids the body of excess sodium that causes fluid retention and therefore helps you lose weight.

So how much water should you drink?
Eight 8-ounce glasses of water a day. Another approach to water intake is the “8 x 8 rule” — drink eight 8-ounce glasses of water a day (about 1.9 liters

But sometimes full-filling the 8×8 rule can get boring. There’s really no flavour to water… so how do you overcome this?

Here are some tips to give your water an exciting new life!

Citrus – Freeze a small citrus fruit called kalamansi in ice cube trays and then put the ice cubes in water for flavour. The same can be done with other citrus fruits and the water produced would be infused with vitamin C.

Herbs – Mint, lemongrass, and parsley are great for adding aroma and a hint of green to your water. If you want to release the flavor you can crush the plants a little bit before putting them into your water.

Ginger – If you like spices, ginger is a great way to add a “zing” to your water. If it is added to boiling water it is also a great way to clear your throat and sinuses during a cold.

– Add slices of: strawberries, raspberries, blueberries, cucumber, lemon, lime, grapefruit, orange, or kiwi.

And make sure to stay away from products such as VITAMIN WATER, Aquafina, or Dasani… they might seem harmless because you’re drinking water, but they’re full of sugar and other additives that do more harm than good.
